FluMag
Magnesium flux for converter, electric arch
and blast furnace.
FluMag® is a product produced from the mineral brucite to be used as a flux with a high magnesium oxide content
for iron smelting and steelmaking in an oxygen converter, in electric furnace steelmaking, agglomeration and blast-furnace processes, as well as for agglomerate production.
FluMag® is a product used in steelmaking. It effectively saturates slag with magnesium oxide and ensures the required lining durability for basic-oxygen converters and electric arc furnaces.
It enhances the output and performance of blast-furnace conversion and improves the quality of iron smelting. FluMag® is used to reduce blast-furnace slag viscosity and improve its desulphurating capacity. FluMag® is one of the sources of magnesium used in producing iron-ore sinter and agglomerate.
FluMag® is manufactured from magnesium hydroxide which occurs in nature as the mineral brucite and is the mineral with the highest naturally occurring magnesium oxide content compared with other natural minerals. It is mined from our own mineral deposits, and as has a solid structure and particle size ranging from 0 to 60 mm.
